Best Engine Transmission Oil Cooler Kits
When your automobile runs on the road, it inevitably heats up. Cooling systems are required for vehicles, and the two main types include the radiator cooling system and the engine oil cooling system.
Radiator cooling system – In this system, the heat is removed from the areas surrounding the cylinders, the combustion chamber, and the inlet manifold.
Engine oil cooler system – This is used for cooling cool down the other parts of the automobile’s inside combustion engine, like the connecting rod, crankshaft, bearings, pistons, etc.

The tube and fin style coolers are arranged so that the oil is made to circulate them via cooler lines. When the oil released, the tubes take up the heat and release them to the fins, which are located externally such that the air moving out of them absorbs the heat generated in the engine.
It has been observed that in many ordinary cooling systems, the oil which is in contact with the walls of the tube cools down quickly and forms a kind of an insulating layer. The oil layer which is not in contact with the walls of the tube remains at a higher temperature, and thus the cooling, in this case, is not proper and the efficiency is reduced.
The main modifications done to improve the efficiency of this system, are that the agitators are fitted in the tube, helping to prevent sludge formation. The oil flow improves as a result, and efficiency improves.
2.Stacked-plate Engine Oil Coolers
This system of engine cooling is determined as lowered effective as compared to tube and fin types coolers which are mentioned earlier. Here, the plates are organized in a stack form, and the oil is placed to undergo it; as an outcome, the heat is removed from the machine when the air omit through these plates. The air moves bit by bit, and hence this system is not as efficient.
The various modifications which are involved to increase the efficiency of engine cooling systems include:
- Increasing the surface area of the tubes and lines in the tube and fin style system.
- Using materials like aluminum, which is lightweight.
- Making changes in the design of the oil coolers.
